Daily Kent Stater: “Stricter academic rules could keep teams from championships”

The following is an article I wrote for the Daily Kent Stater on November 17. It is about new NCAA rules regarding minimum team Academic Progress Rate scores, and how it relates to Kent State sports. I went over the new regulations and analyzed the APR scores of Kent State teams, talked to associate athletic director Tom Kleinlein, and baseball coach Scott Stricklin. My story on Kentwired.com:

Poor performance in the classroom — not in competition — could keep more teams out of bowl games and postseason tournaments, thanks to legislation the NCAA passed in late October.
